NALFA Launches Industry Intelligence Program to Deliver New Laminate Flooring Market Insights

Participant-driven benchmarking initiative will gather perspectives from executives, retailers, installers, inspectors, and other industry professionals.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., July 27, 2026 — The North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) recently announced the launch of its new Industry Intelligence Program, an ongoing benchmarking initiative designed to provide the laminate flooring industry with more reliable data about the market conditions, business trends, consumer behaviors, installation challenges, and field-performance issues shaping the category.

As consumer expectations shift, competition increases, and product innovation accelerates, the laminate flooring industry needs credible industry-wide information to guide its decisions. NALFA’s Industry Intelligence Program will bring together perspectives from across the supply chain to create a clearer picture of where the laminate flooring industry stands today and where it is headed.

“Every part of our industry sees the market from a different perspective,” said Tom Wright, President of NALFA. “By bringing those perspectives together, we can give industry professionals better information to benchmark performance, anticipate emerging challenges, identify opportunities, and make more informed decisions about the future of laminate flooring.”

The program is open to both NALFA members and non-members. Participants will select the survey path that most closely reflects their role and experience:

  • Executive Market Outlook, for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers, and executive leaders;
  • Retail Sales and Consumer Insights, for retailers, retail sales associates, store managers, and buying groups; or
  • Installation, Inspection, and Field Performance, for installers, inspectors, technical teams, and manufacturer technical staff.

Participants will receive exclusive access to NALFA’s Industry Intelligence Reports once the results have been analyzed. The reports will provide benchmarking insights across three key areas: executive market outlook, retail sales and consumer behavior, and installation, inspection, and field performance.

Although the program is centered on laminate flooring, the research will also explore how laminate is positioned relative to other flooring categories. Insights into consumer preferences, retail recommendations, market competition, installation considerations, and perceived product performance can help professionals across the greater flooring industry better understand the factors influencing category selection and purchasing decisions.

The findings will help organizations compare their experiences with broader industry trends, identify emerging opportunities and challenges, and support strategic planning with more comprehensive market intelligence.

Protecting participant information is central to the program. The surveys are independently administered by Canopy Management Group’s Data & Research Department. Individual and company responses will not be shared with NALFA, its Board of Directors, or other participants. All findings will be reported only in aggregated and anonymized formats, and submissions will be validated before inclusion in the final reports.

“Industry intelligence is only valuable when participants trust the process,” Wright said. “Companies can contribute candidly knowing that their individual information will remain protected. Participants will see the industry’s collective storynot another company’s confidential data.”

NALFA intends for the Industry Intelligence Program to become an ongoing benchmarking resource that will allow the laminate flooring industry to track trends, measure changes over time, and build a stronger foundation for future decision-making.

Industry professionals must complete the survey by Monday, August 31, 2026, to receive the participant-exclusive reports.
